Overview

Why Buy Water-Based Line Paint over Oil-Based Paint?

Line paint is line paint, right? No! Water-Based and Oil-Based paints are very different. While oil-based paints are more durable and more resistant to the elements, they are also harder to clean and are actually not allowed to be used in certain states and municipalities. Water-based paint is the alternative if you aren't legally allowed to use oil-based paint.

Apart from legal reasons, water-based paint is more economical and easier to clean. It is not as hazardous to the environment as solvent-based paints, but it must be kept safe from freezing.

Features

  • The Asphalt Line Striping line paint can be used on any asphalt or concrete surface. Use for parking lot lines, curbs, traffic lines, crosswalks, airport markings, and more.
  • Remove any loose paint if painting over old lines. You can do this with a stiff-bristled broom or a power washer. Make sure your surface is clean and dry; you can use a gas blower to clear off any debris.
  • Check the forecast! Only apply this water-based line paint at temperatures of 60°F+, and make sure there is no forecasted precipiation for the next 24 hours.
  • Want to paint concrete? If it's new, the concrete must be cured for at least 30 days. This paint will not adhere to polished, waxed, or painted concrete.
  • Add extra visibility with glass beads. They must be applied at the time of painting.
  • What's the yield? You get 320 linear feet per gallon, and 1,600 linear feet per 5-gallon pail.
